Welcome Lucas Eladio Lopez

After 16 hours of labor, mama decided it was the right time for an epidural. Now feeling more relaxed, we decided to take a nap. The nurses noticed Baby Lucas' heart rate was unsteady and dropping. Since mama was only 4cm dilated and had so much farther to go until pushing time... the doctors felt it was time for an emergency c-section. Within minutes, we were all rushed to surgery. The doctors assured us that Baby Lucas was going to be fine. I watched as the miracle of life happened right before my eyes and

Time to induce the labor and get this party started! Lots of exciting things over the past several hours...we're also trying to catch up on some much needed rest before the big push!

Here's a quick recap of events--

0000-Checked into hospital
0100-Started anti-biotics (1cm)
REST
0400- Started Oxytocin (Pitocin) to help contractions
REST
0700- Surprise visit from Dr Lacey to break Sara's water (2cm)
0800- Contractions are getting stronger and things are moving right along

Progress

Had an emotional visit with Dr. Lacy today. With Franky leaving on Monday for work we decided it's time we finally get to meet Baby Lucas! He's been slow cooking long enough! We will be inducing labor sometime Thursday in hopes he will arrive soon after. Excited and anxious to meet our little dude! Yoda was trying out the Boppy today to make sure it's just right for his arrival.

Anticipation

39 weeks into the pregnancy and we're eagerly awaiting the birth of Baby Lucas. Contractions are regular and we've tried the laundry list of "old wives tales" dispelling myth after myth on how to induce labor. His actual due date isn't until April 29th but geez...come out already! We're ALL excited to meet you!
